My friend that spent years trying to get me to read Worm, has read them all, he told me to probably not bother with Pact, but that Twig was really good.

He’s also in the middle of writing Ward, which is the sequel to Worm, right now.

It's hard to say how accurately this novel portrays anything about North Korea, but an interesting read all the same given our current political climate.

I read at least 2 books a week, so right now i'm finishing up The Arinthian Line series by Sever Bronny. It's basically fantasy, perhaps a little more YA oriented than I prefer, but the story is solid and it was free on Kindle Unlimited. Most enjoyable recent read for sci-fi fans was the epic series Breakers by Edward W Robertson, and it's semi-sequel 1000 years in the future, Rebel Stars. You can start the series for free here: http://amzn.to/2Dw0eHN

Currently reading Count Zero by William Gibson. I read Neuromancer a long time ago and then recently saw Mona Lisa Overdrive on sale for like 3 bucks on the Kindle store so I grabbed it and read it thinking that it was book 2 in the Sprawl trilogy. So I've read the trilogy completely out of order which is typically a pet peeve of mine. :)

Now a lot of Mona Lisa Overdrive references are making a lot more sense!

I've been on a sci-fi and space opera kick in general lately. Read all of Dan Simmons Hyperion Cantos, Ringworld and then part 2. I have part 3 but haven't read it yet (annoyingly part 3 is not available digitally even though parts 1,2 and 4 are), Sprawl trilogy, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, A Scanner Darkly and The Martian.

Space Opera...check out the Culture books by Ian M. Banks; suggest you start with Player of Games. Easily my favorite series from a fantastic author. Sadly he passed in 2013, but the series is loosely interconnected in the same 'verse, so it's not like getting hooked on a good series that prematurely gets cancelled. Worth it.

If you like it, I'd suggest you read them in the following order. While not being in the order they were published, it's a bit more appropriate within the scope of the entire work.

    Player of Games
    Consider Phlebas
    Excession
    Use of Weapons
    The State of the Art
    Inversions
    Matter
    Surface Detail
    The Hydrogen Sonata
    Look to Windward

This is an order I followed while re-reading from a blogger.

I'm still somewhat upset they got Kevin Xerox Anderson to wrap up the Dune series.

Get a free program called Sigil. It allows you to create/edit ebooks. Aside from making chapters and a Table of Contents, it should be as easy as copy/paste each chapter directly from the website.

You can also use Calibre to convert existing .pdf into .epub and other formats. It usually requires some thorough cleaning in Sigil once the conversion is done.

I'm going to look over the first chapter. If It gets my interest, I may make an .epub.

I am going to pick up a copy of "Moby Dick" to read here soon. Any recommendations on a good hard cover? It will go on the shelf in my Library once I finish it.

Reading rn "Gravity's Rainbow". As it turns out, I am not a big fan of Pynchon's style. Kinda struggling to finish it.

It only works properly with image-free PDFs I assume? The pdf I linked should be fine but the others I plan on reading will probably choke.

    @DrForBin

Wow. I guess I should have put a budget out there. $999 is bit more expensive than I had in mind. I would limit the budget to $100...and would certainly prefer less!

Just started An Autumn War book 3 of The Long Price Quartet by Daniel Abraham. I previously read his series The Dagger and The Coin and enjoyed it quite a bit, but so far I like this, his first fantasy series, better.

Read this in November last year. Worth it for its strangeness.

Recently a friend sent me this book. I like it more than expected...

This will keep me busy for a while.

So I got through reading Ready Player One and Armada and I got nostalgic for the 80's again. My buddy knew I was into those old 80's cheezy sci-fi movies and gifted me this book:

Lol. I didn’t know there was a book. Of course; who else would have penned this but Alan Dean Foster?

Speaking of...great video game and quite a decent read.

I recently re-watched the movie, so I am curious to see how much the book differs.
