What's up with membranes looking like primitive copies of patented OPPO design?

If anyone's sure to know what an Oppo's guts look like... :)

That aside, I would be interested to see how these measure on other, more familiar rigs @Nanotech. Any chance you'd be willing to send a sample off to any of the regular measurement-heads for tests + impressions? Not sure who'd be closest to your location, though. I... am nowhere near a fan of how this looks in its current iteration, but if it sounds good then who cares about aesthetics? Haha.

That's not a great measurement, seeing as it has very few points, and it stops barely into the sub bass. You should buy a miniDSP E.A.R.S jig and use that to measure them. Get a really detailed measurement that way.

If it's a project, and not a commercially acailable product, then that doesn't really matter, does it?

Besides, OPPO isn't the only company doing circular trace planar in the history of planars. Final Audio just joined that club too.

True, though it's not circular traces that caught my eye. It was the knurled portion...

Yeah, the similarities are obvious. Interesting that they went through all this trouble to replicate it.

Is that "knurled portion" the patented part?

This also shows the damping system that Final Audio is using now, with the "capsule" that goes on either side of the membrane with holes in it.

Patenting something in planar headphones is like patenting a wheel ;)

Both of this driver and Oppo’s were engineered by the same person as far as I know.

our membrane is a not primitive copy of Oppo. But its has technologically more perfect conception. The membrane of Oрро is taken for basis, because we understood that it is very perspective ,, but it has the defects.we decided to correct its in our version..Our membrane is made from miliyar, but not from capton , and it has much less weight.

Yes, you are right, it is very difficult to do this technologically but we did not stoped on it and made our version of the membrane. You can see it on photo .Its level of manufacture exceeds all diy projects all over the world unconditionally. Such a high level is beyond the forces of many well-known brands.
Headphones are made in a single copy.We want to show our opportunities in the whole world .
. We can implement almost any project to produce high-end headphones on request of our future investors.[IMG]

Show, don't tell! No one wants quasi Soviet propaganda on how awesome your headphones are without having heard them. Get your product out there and let other people decide!
