Anxiously awaiting the moment when I can settle into a setup long enough to post a picture of it. I've accumulated far too many speakers, some of which need some attention (JBL 4412A, JBL L112, Dynaudio BM15P, Paradigm Active 40 v2, Adam A5X, some subs) and am in the middle of the tedious process of figuring out which I like best (and in which positions) to narrow it down to the best 2 or 3 pairs. If my office weren't so small I'd just build a speaker wall and be happy.

Got a umik-1 the other day and finally had a chance to measure these guys:

Green is right channel at about 1 meter on axis 1/6 smoothing
Blue is both channels at about 1 meter centered(mic pointed straight at my computer monitor) at listening position 1/6 smoothing

Better than I expected for a single 6" driver and a DIY cabinet.

I don't really have room for a nice divorce-level set up right now, so I've been wanting something rather overkill for my workstation since I'm there 90% of the time. A long time was spent over debating on powered vs passive and demoed a lot of speakers from Sonus Faber (too dark) to Quad (too anemic) and BW (too bright). For shits and giggles, I went to a Magnolia and rather fell in love with these Definitive D11s. The treble wasn't ear piercing and the bass wasn't bloating out the mid range. And holy hell do they image beautifully. Best of all, they kinda rock as nearfield speakers too.

Not going to bother with a sub until I get some acoustic treatment and bass traps up since these things dip pretty low. Also could use a better amp to bring a little more out of them, I think.

Wow. My desk certainly takes the austere route when compared to yours... no speakers here, but still equipped for audio. I want my soft phone back!

Ghetto open baffle and Oris horn with Lowther DX3 wide-banders with custom DIY ghetto phase plug. Finally finished it. I am pretty happy with it. The only thing else I might want to build is an OB with a mid and high Altec / JBL horns (which is really different, not better - crisper transients, cleaner, but less resolving). But for now, I am happy. I feel like I am finally there and the speakers only need some tweaking. Woofers are cheapass Eminence 15" Betas.

Baffle is held up by cheap shelf L-brackets that can be found at the hardware store. The horn apparatus sits on top of a Ikea step-stool. The Fostex tweeter rests on a DIY ghetto Lego bracket. I'll be looking to change this out because this supertweeter isn't efficient enough for the horn.

I should have done this a long time ago. I did have an OB setup until one of my Moth Cicada drivers died. Sort of sat on this for two years? That is until I realized I could utiilize the the spare L brackets sitting in my garage and the two Ikea step-stools we were no longer using.

I forgot how good OB bass was. Bass in a box, ported or sealed, sounds restricted and seems twice as suspectible to room effects and screwy FR. Moving up to a 15" from 12" does wonders too. Warm, but not warm poo, sort of an internal warmth, effortless, punchy, visceral.

It looks like some sort of music/photo studio/jam space/communal meeting space/artist emporium on the other side of the glass...

Close, but it's just our office (Essential Tennis, online tennis instruction/YouTube channel). My introversion, ridiculous gear setup and editing deadlines won me the only private office in our space. I love my coworkers, especially how they understand my distaste for shared workspaces.

Sweeeet. Would love to hear those someday. I've done some room treatment but haven't gotten a Wizard Mickey yet.
