I have a friend that I wanna ask about making closed cups for my HE-4XX pair. Might try the same with the Verums, since the grille is attached in such a convenient way.

I am pretty sure many may have just used kickstarters own webpage to navigate to the drop and/or other links from people or the likes of youtube (i.e. Zeos). Perhaps actual link is not indication of individuals initial project interest.

Personally, I didn't use any links when I was early adopter :)

I sense a distinct lack of planar magnetic there.

Only if you like to listen to new FOTM gear. I'm sure the Verum is good, but I doubt it's utopia class. Do you need something for work that is relatively cheap? Then maybe. If you are looking to replace or enhance what you have, and you want some TOTL planars, there are other options as well as the Verum. If you just want to dabble and play, sure, why not. It all depends on how much disposable income you have.

Sense in what sense, what are you after? Have you listened to other planars, what did you think of them? What do you find lacking in your current three pairs? You need to provide more detail to get any useful responses.

I have the same headphones plus the LCD-2C. I’m getting the Verum because I want to hear a different style of planar as I’ve been disappointed with modern types, though in contrast to those dynamics the 2C has incredible deeply extended clean bass.

Bare in mind only about four people here have actually heard them. This may be relevant, it was posted in regards to the ZMF Verite:

I've read that Verum one area of weakness seems to be a big sound stage. Is the sound stage on verum one better then HD600/hd650?

I've heard they are pretty wide, but not as wide as something like an x2 or m1060.

I keep looking, but there is virtually not a single review on these in the last month. I wonder if the pre-production samples are still being evaluated at all, or if they came back home and that´s it?

I´m just tired of watching Zeos making sexy noises over and over again, just saying.

Yep, that's it. Also I wrote to almost all youtube bloggers and Hi-fi magazines with a proposition to give the samples for review, unfortunately none of them except : 1) Headfonics 2) Earphiles 3) Zeos has responded to me.
Yep, I don't have advertising budget, I understand rules of the game.

Youtuber Joshua Valour, metal1571, DMS no interest to review?
People assume Zeos is the one have to pay for review, but seems the real story is very different.

Did you pay Putin, I mean Jude?

If you didn't, you will get no exposure. Posts relating to your product will disappear, be discouraged via notices from mods, or be drowned out in the sea of crappy products shilled there.

There is a lot of cross pollination between SBAF and HF members. Some of us would still post there if not the for the silent bans (accounts active, but post privileges revoked, this making HF seem less evil). What has happened is the backers chose to identify themselves as SBAF members instead of HF.

After the Kickstarter seeds future production costs, you''ll likely get more sales if you can stock and sell direct.

Wow, that's just somewhat unexpected, didn't see that coming. Pretty sad.

Every TOTL planar has some kind of weirdness:
    1. Inconsistency / variability of sound per individual unit.
    2. Strange metal sheen in the highs.
    3. Limited production run / uncertainty of replacement parts.
    4. Requires significant mods to sound normal.
The Verum is not Utopia priced and compared to HD600/HD650 does certain things better or more interesting, among these are bass extension, bass quality, transient response, and timbre. The timbre is different but more interesting. Like @gbeast, I really love this aspect of it. I wasn't kidding when I said the Verum reminds me of the 70s planars' timbre, with that connectedness, that fluidity and lack of grain. The microdynamics are superb.

Where it falls behind slightly are with the heft, bass quality, resolution, and transient response of the best planars.

The Verum is the HD650 (taking into account the inherent strengths and weaknesses of their respective technologies) of planars.

What others said, slightly wider, not much. The headstage on the HD600/HD650/LCD-# is compact. Focal headphones in comparison are just slightly less deep. Production version will have more open pads, so this may change. If headstage is a priority, there is only one: HD800.

I currently own Hd600 which does not have much soundstage, but do other things really well except bass extension. I was looking for something different than hd600. Since I never heard planar magnetic headphone before, I went with Verum one considering they seems better then m1060, which is what i had planning to buy. Pretty excited to hear my first planner! I am pretty new to this hobby though. I have only heard 3 headphones hd600, HD598 and M50x.

Soundstage is not the biggest priority for me, but do want slightly more open sounding then my hd600. I hope my hd600 is not underpowered using O2ODAC.

All good headphones for their price. HD600, HD598, and M50.

Verum might have a more closed sense, but wider stage if that makes any sense. The seal from the outside on the Verum is stronger. There really isn't a permeable baffle / leaky pads as on HD600.

ODAC is fine. O2 kind of sucks as an amp. Slightly veiled, slightly blubby bass, lean bass.

HD 600 is more power hungry then Verum One for sure, so it might not have a bubbly or lean bass issue with Verum one using O2Odac i assume?
