Power is a voltage*current. Verum 1 is more current hungry, HD 600 are more voltage hungry.

Soooo I assume no problem running Verum 1 from headphone amp with PSU on steroids (4x 1000VA) - as it has current in spades :D:D:D

What AMP/DAC do you guys Recommend for achieving Non Lean and bubbly sounding bass as well as fuller sounding Combo overall? OR should i just keep my O2Odac and hope that would not be problem for Verum one?

I am willing to spend max of $400.00 for AMP/DAC Combo.

Does It really worth the $400 for upgrading the sound that i already get from O2Odac?

I've read that DAC/AMP upgrade are Mostly very Minimal.

Just wait until you try them and get user feedback. You may be just fine.

I will just have to wait for the headphone, before making any decision.

User feedback seems to be a best option for now.

@ Backers who have responded to the survey, what color combo did you end up going with? I went with the Zebrano and Silver.

If you guys heard of new JDS Labs atom, how does this compare to O2 amp? is the difference audible? Measurements can be good and all, but sometimes sound difference can be inaudible.

It's been a while since I checked out The Updates. Just reminding folk about that page, and giving the link so others don't have to search again.

Great to see the progress, and the snippets of engineering process. Even the one one that involves felt and scissors!

I'll be honest, the update process is a breath of fresh air when compared to the majority of Kickstarters who often try to obfuscate their product development process.

I heard the Verum can produce strongest bass with the good seal. Would wearing the glass and then putting the headphone on would any chance lessen the quality or quantity of bass? I am assuming it does. What do you guys think? My HD600s pad has a permeable baffle, so it does not make much difference.

Great updates, indeed, although I'm a little worried about the whole endeavour, and the future of the Verum brand itself.

IMHO what @Garuspik should do (I know, here I am, mister know-it-all) is put some of that Kickstarter money to good use, and try to mechanize the production. And, more importantly, keep it "in-house" as much as possible. As he points out, controlling the step-by-step process just for the headband was very time consuming, I suppose also due to the fact that "mafia" guys weren't sewing next door, but rather across the city or even region, who knows.

Same thing with the etching of the membranes: I cannot help but cringe a little when I see those plastic crates and the heaters underneath. My guess is he'll throw them away pretty soon anyway, as the whole process will inevitably be updated.

Man, he has to move away from the DYI mentality, and make the necessary steps towards what this brand could be once and for all. Which is precisely what he asked the investment for to begin with. I cannot help but think that by focusing so much on delivering on time, he´s postponing the much needed investment in a production line more suited for the job.

I know most great ideas started off in a garage or a shed, but it´s just not sustainable in the long run is all I'm saying. And I personally wouldn't mind (I cannot believe I'm saying this, but it's true) if he postponed the production for a while, if that meant improving the current "modus operandi". Don't get me wrong, I want my headphone ASAP, but I know what I signed up for, which is help a project I believe in trully come to life.

I don't know, but I hope he puts the whole operation under one roof eventually, at least. Especially if he wants to stay on top of things every step of the way, as he should. Otherwise he'll spend all day long on the phone, or traveling across Ukraine, the poor thing, and this is no plan.

@raducutzu Let me explain. I've spent ~ 2 month to produce Verum 1 with exact same sound as all reviewers heard and then ~ 1.5 years to simplify construction and make it reliable. And I've made a detailed description of each production stage. So basically, now it's indeed something like DIY with a 100 multiplier ;)
But before the first batch I won't make any single change to production process. I've spent too much time to confirm that everything sounds and works fine and now, near the final just don't want to risk. My main goal now - deliver what was promised.

p.s. I've received about 159k$ from Kickstarter campaign. Shipping of the whole batch WorldWide will be about 20k$ So, I have 139k$ for production of ~530 Verum 1 and my profit. I'm not complaining, I'm trying to explain why production process doesn't look like Iphone assembling line ;)

p.p.s. If you guys don't want to know the process part I just can show you results.

Oh, no, man, I really appreciate it, I just thought our backing was going to help you out to put in place a production line, I guess I never thought this was what you had in mind. If you can handle it, fine by me, my concern is about you and all the effort you have to put in to keep it under control and consistent this way.

I hope my thoughts didn't upset you, cause I love this project, man.

No way, I want to see it all. And I like the idea of eyes on stitching, driver making ,cup, well you get the idea. QA during the whole process. Automating will likely change the results, for better or worse maybe, but definitely different. Home cooking is preferred.
