Yeah was just thinking the same thing yesterday. Oy.

Also, what happened to the Geek Source? Seems like that one they at least put some units out into the world a while ago. To be honest the Source is going to be possibly be useful to me now, as I am doubtful the Wave will displace my Sony NW-WM1Z.

I think in 2014-ish all of the LH Labs ideas were promising.
Now old and either standard or outdated.
If I received anything I would sell DAC, wave, amp, etc etc.
Would consider keeping the Source as a digital source for a desktop application at work.

He's redesigning the whole thing. From the ground up. No more outdated concepts, they've all gone.

It's now going to be a dishwasher.

    New update:

Warning: Nothing in this is likely to be true:

Here is the latest information from the Wave project. Larry visited the Wave team on his recent trip to Asia and spent many meetings with them helping them with the hardware and software. The team expects the Pure OS music platform to be done in the next 60 days. Shown below is the team and the Wave developer's board. Bluetooth is the priority and then the Wifi, etc, will be tackled. When software is finished on that board, we will merge that back to the original hardware structure. It took us lots of time to find a good team but we're confident we did. Part of the reason this project took so long is because we had to upgrade the CPU to the IMX series. The teams found the original CPU we used was uncommon between them (ie: not every team had lots of experience with that chip), so Larry had to redesign some aspects of the hardware to get all teams on the same page with a CPU that all teams were very familiar developing for. Now that it's done, the process should go much more smoothly than before. Below are pictures for the team and the Wave developer's board. (picture edited for sensitive company information) We will update you when we have more information, hopefully in the next 30 days or so. Thanks! The entire LH team

Everything is "a few months away", then silence, then "a few months away". Repeat.

It's that stinking PR Bot spouting diarrhoea again, right? Larry did this, Larry did that, Larry turned it into a diswasher, but sadly the team was ready to wash socks. Bollocks.

Some things look weird in the picture of the "Wave developer's board" that was shared in the latest update...

Is that a VGA connector on the bottom right corner (or maybe some specialized serial test port)? And the components (e.g. power switch and plug in the upper-right, light green connector on the upper edge, ribbon connector on the right side) and the layout does not look like it's for a portable unit, but a desktop. Even if that's because it's a test-bed, it doesn't look like any of Larry's other layouts. Finally, the revision number just below the "redacted" portion appears to be from August 2017! If they just hired this team, how is the board from a year and a half ago? And if it's the LHL test-bed, what happened to the "beta" board they shared back in October of 2017 that is pictured below? At least that board looks like it's properly sized for a portable!

Ugh, the confusion and frustration continues...

It looks like that blue board might have a couple of Ethernet connectors on it (https://www.sunrom.com/p/hr911105a). I really suspect that it's a picture of an off-the-shelf single board computer with the name blanked out- there's stuff that doesn't ring true there.

It's entirely possible that Larry is being "creative" again.

    The plot thickens! Or thins.

Or goes completely off the rails.

Last I heard, Larry is working with the developer of Stardew Valley so it works on the Wave. @Cspirou and I will be pleased.

Anyway, I propose that we close this thread and never speak of LH Labs ever again.
