I also like thin lightweight cables but I do not particularly like this cable - never said it is not up for its job or that it needs to be replaced - it looks cheap when V1 doesn't, also rubber bit reminds me of my old PortaPro cable that got brittle after short use and kept on breaking (till i replaced it with some bog standard one from other cheap hps - and it worked fine for next 10 years) - not that I suggest same will happen here
Screw on adapter is a nice touch though and very pragmatic

We'll get @Garuspik to get a nice sheath over the cable. One that looks like the sandworms of Arrakis for the final touch.

Yeah, I had a headphone cable like that once and one of the channels started cutting out (presumably from the stress) within a week of ownership.

Mine also sounds the same. The vocal sounds slightly left of center. I am hoping ot will go away overtime as well.

Stock cables that came with HE-1000v2 of my buddy were dreadful and felt annoyingly cheap. But then again, because of these and many other I always have something to do, so I won't complain

@ReAlien those pads look sweet! Some more photos of the pads, along with your impressions, would be much appreciated.

    Those look great.

Quick question, why 3 different posts for the 3 pics?

My bad, sorry, I had so much trouble adding images to this thread and so little time to do it that I decided to do it that way. Will do it in one post next time.

Can you try to show the angling from beneath? Are these pads being implemented into production already or are you getting a extra pair to test out?

Those pads should be some sort of surprise, but @ReAlien have shown them earlier. In a month or two I'll finish at least 100 pairs and will propose for those who already purchased Verum 1 those pads at a self-cost price. It would be 25$ including international shipping (~10$ shipping and believe it or not about 15$ manufacturing cost).
I've made some research about what people like and what don't in Verum 1 and made those pads.

    What people complained most:

    1. My ear doesn't fit! I want oval openinng - done.
    2. Too distant speaker-like sound - okay, made pads thinner. Sound image much closer now.
    3. We want more 3dimensional sound - angle pads help a bit.
    4. Veiled sound - perforated leather solved one major problem: removed difference in pressure on 2 sides of membrane. Now air can flow inside and outside pad.
    5. Winter Summer is coming! My ears got sweat! - see #4

So I don't whant to make additional profit on those who purchased headphones. Just a small thanks for initial supporters. But in future that'll be an option that will cost additional money. And sure I'll save on shipping if I send them with headphones.

p.s. Pads are not ready yet! Only 12 pairs made so far. One of it i've sent to @cskippy for measurements.

I got the new pads by sheer luck, my audio buddy knows Garuspik and received the new earpads for testing purposes.

Here's what I can report on the new fully fenestrated and angled pads:
IMHO, they have more open, ethereal sound; there is a slight loss in the bass power and the highs become less bright, the sound gets less boomy overall. The bass is more articulate and precise, though. In general, the changes are consistent with similar pads on other headphones. Switch from closed to fully fenestrated pads would do that. Comfort is also improved due to the angled design, and the leather is even more delicate but I cannot say that the stock ones are far behind in comfort. Maybe the comfort gain with the new ones would be more noticeable in the heat of the summer.
That being said, I can see some people still preferring stock ones as the slight reverberations of the closed pads give the sound pleasant coloration, especially with the bass, but I, personally, prefer the sound of the new pads — to my ears, it is more authentic and pleasant. I cannot thank Garuspik enough for such mod for already great Verums.

YES! Thank you, @Garuspik, my Dumbo ears will probably fit in those! They look pretty nice.

Also there is some connectivity between 2.5mm tips with my cable, 140 MOm, which I guess is adding like -169 dB to crosstalk.
