GoT, with all it's issues, is awesome. Currently my favorite show that I look forward to watch.

    Starbucks coffee is pretty good.

There is still this deal about Arya shutting down green eyes. But Jamie did not seem all too excited about going down south. I think he is planning to go jihad on Cercei.

I feel very much like you do.

It's funny HBO wants to wrap this thing fast and with only 6 episodes. Because once GoT is done, so is my HBO subscription.

There is a bit of symbolism to the parting of Ghost.

Once a direwolf leaves a Stark (or family extension in Idiot's case), it seems to signal that that Stark (or Stark-wanna-be) is no longer a Stark (or a whatever-Snow).

Seems to me Idiot is going to become full on Targaryen, or give the Ghost.

On top of that, the end of Rhaegal may carry some symbolism as well. Difficult to read too much into GoT, because there is a lot of implied prophecies that half-ass match eachother with many different possible outcomes. In other words, they are not giving away everything. Which is good.

I think this picture is a perfect visual representation of everything that has gone wrong with this seasons episodes. The show is running on caffeine and fumes!

    Thinking about it.

Danny left pretty pissed off after Missandei's death, and Worm Gummies is no-happy. "Mad-king" pissed off.

My latest bullshit prediction is that shit is going to rain down hard on Kings Landing (I actually never cared for those fucks). Unless of course the writers pull out a Night King out with Varys taking a bullet for the "realm", which falls into what Melissandre told him.

Given Danny's inability to think outside the box, I predict Drogon will give the Ghost. So f**k you Danny.

Yep. The Bronn and Rhaegal scenes were handled as bad as anything I've seen. Relative to logical consistency.

Say what you want about the quality of the show lately, it's hard not to like Cersei as a villain you love to hate... that smug look at 13 seconds...

    In a word, yes.

The scorpion shtick is so improbable it's laughable. How long it would take to dial in an accurate shot...these are moving targets.

I could almost buy the 1st shot getting off (if it were a flurry of projectiles from the whole fleet) at which time the dragons would move.

Because, you know dragons f'ing move. A lot.

    Away.

Or better yet behind them to incinerate the fleet.

Because the only thing slower than re-aiming these huge crossbows is repositioning a moving ship.

Somewhere in S6/7, Varys goes through shit to arrange an alliance between Dorne and Daenerys, pledges his loyalty to her as the last great hope for a suitable ruler of the seven kingdoms, and promises to council her in the event where he feels that she is failing in her capacity as ruler. But now and he's willing to ditch her as heir apparent all too easily.

Ignoring the whole apparent blindness + aimbot ballista bullshit, are we really supposed to believe that the most mythical creature in the realm can be easily bested by a rudimentary weapon? Like the famed beasts which the Targaryeans used to overcome a vast numerical disadvantage and conquer the Seven Kingdoms are completely exposed and useless against a mercenary pirate fleet?

And for all that talk about how Sansa has had a complete turnaround into the 'smartest person' Arya Stark has ever met, I fail to see exactly how so. Her only traits are instinctive mistrust and jealousy, and her only guiding principle is unbridled self-preservation of the North. How has anything that she has 'accomplished' been the direct result of her own construct or intelligence? She was rescued from the clutches of Ramsay only because Theon had a last gasp change of heart. She completely fell under the manipulation by Littlefinger and would have murdered her sister if not for the intervention of Bran. She completely disregards any possibility that Dany could be just, or at the very least a useful ally who shares common interests in the North. She has no empathy whatsoever for the sacrifices that Dany makes to devote her entire forces North, and selfishly disregards anything except for the North to remain free and independent. One could even argue that it is her idiocy and refusal for reconciliation that is the driving force behind the increasing wedge between the Jon and Dany camps.

I get that Dany has always had a mean streak about her. But what about the benevolent side of her? The one that they spent 5+ seasons carefully cultivating, that had the people across the narrow sea becoming so enamored with? Now she's reduced to a spiteful, jealous teenager who cares about nothing except consolidating power. No subtlety or grace, or greater purpose in trying to achieve it.

You can take away the booze and the whoring, but the quintessential traits of Tyrion are his intelligence and sharp tongue. Where has that gone? His thought process is simplistic and completely naive. Half the time he's shut up by one-liners from someone else, and fumbles around trying to find words for a simple reply.

What purpose does Tormund serve except to continually press on with his infatuation with Brienne. Is he there solely for comedic relief? Same for Clegane. He's in a perpetually dour mood, but whereas previously there was some point and purpose to it, every scene he appears in tries to push forth that dourness for no reason whatsoever, except to say 'Clegane is dour'. He's a completely pointless and uninteresting character at this stage.

Maybe Arya needed to die as she was killing the Night King. You get your Major Death for the episode while removing the question of why Arya doesn't just sneak in disguised and kill Cersei.

As far as why is Dany no longer as benevolent, I kind of get her being less benevolent now that she knows she's not the true heir to the iron throne.

@muse I also get the impression that a lot of the characterizations you're making may well be directorial interpretations of GRRM, not necessarily how they're presented in the books. Maybe even gross oversimplifications.

I can't help but get the feeling that Dany is supposed to more gradually 'degrade' into frustration (hereditary madness?). That would make Varys' decision more coherent overall.

I also think Sansa is more astute than you give her credit for...she was overcoming a heck of a lot of pain & manipulation... as a youth no less. I mean I know I have to remind myself that she is much younger than the actress that plays her. She figured out how she was being manipulated (by a master, arguably the best in Weteros) and also out manipulated him in the end.

Of course maybe Arya doen't really know too many smart people.

Maybe they were special "dragon-heat seeking" bolts?

But total BS on the ballistics as stated above and in the reddit thread. Heck, using all the technology we have in the modern age it took forever to get the Patriot system to be somewhat reliable/effective and even the latest (Iron Dome) would likely have issues in that environment. And 100% accuracy against Target 1 and then 0% on Target 2? But hey, there's always some type of weird magic to explain things in GOT...
