The writing and execution of how dragons are dealt with is shit. Starting with the Night Kings olympic throws and now with the oversized ballistas. It's shit. A dragon can spot from a mile away when he is being targeted and move aside. The bigger the arrow and ballista, the easier to spot. The smaller, the less it cares. If big arrows were that effective, Valyria would have never become a power. It's a major flaw in the writting.

I would have rather seen the Night King pull out some freeze magic to neutralize a dragon, than that bullshit.

How you bring a dragon down? With another dragon, and/or shit loads of man power and losses (including shit loads of ballistas which fail to hit the target 95% of the time). And that's that. Unless you are the Night King with all the might of cold magic behind you (and that does not include throwing toothpicks at the problem).

    1. Why did Danny not see Euron's fleet from 100 miles away? Beats me.
    2. Why did she used the sea knowing that Euron's navy controls it? Beats me.
    3. Why has No-One not killed Cercei yet? Beats me.
    4. Why is Danny's control of Essos not showing in this seasson? Beats me.

Dragons are like the nuclear weapons of that world, they’re something a medieval army is completely incapable of dealing with. Like the NK that kind of power imbalance makes for difficult story telling, it’d be hard for Martin to pull a satisfying resolution to that off let alone dumb and dumber.

A dragon would be operating in 3d space, their only chance would be if the dragon was just hovering in place or helpfully flying into their trajectory.

Arya is too easy a solution, they had a half season to fill with this. And they’re hoping you forget that Dany knows the world is bigger than Westeros, this all seems like a set up to make her the “mad queen” who is the real enemy for Jon to save the people from.

They have brought down dragons in that word me thinks. Some radom kingdom killed 3 with their might and after much sweat. Which resulted in Valyria coming down with 300 or so dragons raining down shit on them to infinity and beyond.

The only magical showdown would be Valyrian dragons/mages (fire) vs. North zombies/white walkers (ice). Martin is taking a rain check on that. HBO can't, and like you said, they are pulling crap off their asses.

It's OK crap. Could be worse.

Having winter take over Westeros, and have some epic shit down north of Essos and along the sea seems out of the scope here. It would likely take more than 8 seasons (one a year or two now?) and 2 more episodes.

It's OK. It also means I will cancel HBO in two weeks and watch Cobra Kay season 2 on youtube.

The thought that comes to mind is the end of Hunger Games, where Katniss takes out President Coin when it turns out she was also power-hungry and willing to offer up kids for sacrifice on the altar of revenge...

Also, why was Bronn so angry in the Jamie/Tyrion/Bronn scene?

I actually can't think of any reason for him to be SO pissed off. He always got along fairly well with Tyrion (who has a previously standing offer of doubling his money if it comes to it), and has multiple ways to guarantee he comes out on top here.

Either the odds tilt in Cersei's favor, he shoots Jamie/Tyrion which secures her victory, and gets a castle. Or he does nothing, Cersei dies, and he gets highgarden. He's in a position where he can evaluate this pretty quickly, and ensure that if he does(nt) act it results in the chips falling in his lap.

Worst case where all hell breaks out and he can't safely fulfill a 'win' condition for himself (presumably due to EVERYBODY dying), he takes Cersei's advance payment and pisses off to Bravos to live out the remainder of his days in relative wealth. I forget exactly but it seemed like quite a substantial amount of gold he had been paid up front.

The scene could have gone just as easily with him walking in with a jug of wine in hand and amicably discussing terms before leaving. Just didn't feel fitting how angry he was acting given his character and past experiences.

Yeah the whole Bronn thing was just completely out of place. Bronn casually strolls into Winterfell someone to the surprise of no one, including Tyrion and Jaime. Behaves in a manner not befitting his character, delivers an illogical threat/offer that is somehow trumped by an even more illogical response of acceptance.

I'm betting that he pops out of thin air in the next episode to make a minor Deus Ex Machina cameo, then disappears forever.

He keeps getting promised a castle and title, then had it taken away, was promised it again, that didn't happen, so on and so forth. It seems apparent to me he's pissed for being strung along with promises and getting nothing for it.

I didn't consider it from that perspective, which does put it more into a fitting context, but I still feel the actions/methods he took is unusual writing for him as a character.

Bronn is nothing but a mercenary. He was friendly with Tyrion and Jaime for status it bring and for what they could offer him. The only reason he didn't kill Tyrion and Jaime is that he is not sure that Cersei's forces will be victorious in the upcoming war. He is hedging his bets. If Cersei wins, you can bet that Bronn will do his best to kill Tyrion. Jaime's fate is out of Bronn's hands at least for now. If Cersei loses, Bronn will again be sucking up to Tyrion.

That’s not a new theory. Anyway, everyone knows that Bessie will end up on the Iron Throne. She has always been the true queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

Massive volcanic eruption like Krakatoa destroys everyone and everything. Fade to black......pause, image of New York City with the Statue of Liberty in the foreground. Cut to scene of two couples walking along the beach. They look over and see the Iron Throne half covered in sand. Game over. :p

The show has definitely taken a hit in quality this season. Obvious errors like Starbucks cups in scenes and plot lines that don't make sense. They are writing the show to reach a conclusion quickly. The Battle of Winterfell and another dragon dying feels like they were written to just make the fight with Cersei even.

The fun to be had with the show is to meme it.

I have a really hard time believing that the Starbucks cup thing was an accident and/or they didn't see it and decide to leave it in. One of their executive producers said it was a mistake (https://www.theverge.com/2019/5/6/1...last-of-the-starks-starbucks-producer-apology) but I'm not buying it. And if they really missed it during filming they could have easily CGI'd it out, as they actually have ended up doing as they've edited it out of the episode (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/game-of-thrones-starbucks-cup-coffee-daenerys-targaryen-scene/). With all that they put into the production of those episodes it would have meant dozens of people to miss it, both during filming, post production and screening. I call BS.

Then what would be the reason for leaving it there?

Ah, there's the rub. Some options:
    - The crew having some fun, especially as the show wraps up
    - The need for another good meme
    - Secret Starbucks agents seeking billions in free publicity (https://www.usatoday.com/story/mone...p-worth-billions-free-advertising/1133477001/) , especially as they randomly currently offer a "Dragon Drink"? (https://www.starbucks.com/menu/drinks/refreshers/dragon-drink)

    Who the heck knows/cares...

Really disliked this scene, was so out of character for Bronn. I mean yes he's a mercenary, but he was always quite likeable.

Sansa also not keeping a secret for literally two scenes come on. Yes, we have limited episodes and screen time, but please... the writing last episodes is nothing to write home about. For shame.

It is certainly starting to feel that way, they might as well end it like this at this point now that GOT is turning into the funniest show on TV...
