    @Bill-P Andro with more bass impact? Damn, I've wanted to hear the Z1R for a while but that has intensified my interest.

    We are good. The x2 highish end DACs were sold, so our coffers are replenished. I think community funds are up near $2k now. Or at least they were before this purchase.

    I am looking forward to reading impressions from members of this site. In particular I'm curious about how easy the Z1R is to drive (or not). Would the ZX300 bring it to its potential? Regarding Solaris comparisons I am curious if people regard one or the other to be superior, equal or if perhaps the two would make a great complimentary pair, with each possessing strengths the other lacks.

    Volt for volt, the Z1R is substantially more difficult to drive to the same SPL as the Solaris, which is silly sensitive.

    I'll do TSAV next time (maybe getting another Sony DAP). So it comes with a carrying case, cool. Bling Bling, but who cares for the looks (it could look like a penis but if it sounds good, yep).

    It's not that bad...less so than Andro anyway. I've used Solaris with Cowon, Sony, Questyle and Fiio players, as well as with my s9+, all with minimal hiss...my ZX300 in particular drives the Solaris beautifully. I've been surprised to read reports that Sony's own DAPs struggle to drive the IER Z1R, which leaves me wondering if it's better suited to a desktop rig.
