Welp, HE5se has dropped further to $269 on Adorama. May grab one at this price, I miss planar bass.

or maybe I'll just wait for Hifiman to release the HE5se v2 so the HE5se's value is further cut in half

I have a Xiaomi Bluetooth speaker that is really good for the price. It's legitimately high-fi, very flat response by BT-speaker standards except some bass boost at low volumes. Better sound quality than most BT speakers at any price, except as a small speaker output is limited. The bass is a bit muddy but anything this size will have no bass or compromised bass. It looks nice, anodized aluminum with white plastic sides. I don't think it's waterproof.

Here's a review with measurements, and sound samples taken with binaural microphones, to be listened to on headphones:

It didn't seem to have a model name when I bought it, so I had to go by pictures, but no I'm seeing it sold as the Xiaomi MDZ-26-DB. It used to run $30 to order from China, or $40 from US distributors, but now it's selling for only $20 from Newegg, through their site or their eBay store. Sale reportedly ends in 1 day.

It has to be that model, I've seen comparisons and the other Xiaomi speakers aren't nearly as good.

Not sure how long this has been the case, but the B-stock Yggdrasil is now $1999, $200 less than what it was in the past.

Jason posted about why today on HF: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/sch...bable-start-up.701900/page-3224#post-15064041. @fp627, you could see if your credit card offers price protection given you bought yours so recently.

For what it's worth, I bought both my Yggdrasil and my Ragnarok as B-stock.

One of the Yggdrasil channels went out within a couple months after purchase, so had to be shipped back for warranty service. No issues since then, including after I sent it back again for the Analog 2 upgrade last year.

The Ragnarok also had a channel go out within a couple months after purchase (we're in a new apartment since I had the Yggdrasil issue, so pretty random...). That also required me to ship back for warranty service, a part of which I paid to have the board upgraded from v1.0 to v1.5 given that I knew Ragnarok would be discontinued at some point in the future.

Moral of the story: Sometimes B-stock ends up costing you more money than regular pricing, especially with products that have had rolling changes as in my experience Schiit will not typically confirm which version of boards/firmware are installed in/on B-stock products.

I've bought my Gungnir MB B-stock recently. Received it and it didn't work. It did warm up but no sound at all. Contacted the customer support, after a small conversation got a return label for free and shipped it back. Once the package started moving they immediately sent me a replacement. No issue with the replacement so far.
I'm pretty sure the same could happen with any non-B-stock product. Shit happens sometimes. Likely the customer support is great and issues are resolved pretty quickly.

Brainwavz B400, which Shotgunshane speaks well of, are $129 today (only for Prime members, I think).

This just went down even further to $14.99 shipped. Deal of the century.

(I would recommend buying it through eBay-it has free returns while Newegg charges restocking fees unless the product is defective.)

You think the Festival in a dining room for background music would do better than a pair of OSMTs? I have a Turbo X which is great, but would like a little more oomph down low.
