I totally read that wrong, I thought you were saying it was not in California, but really you meant the sun, haha.

Is that Coronado island? We used to go there a few times when I lived in AZ.

Any landing that you can watch the cell-phone video of afterwards is a good one.

(It's nice, but I wish it was horizontal. I'm joying the no-portrait videos lobby. I think they have hashtags and stuff. Maybe a t-shirt too.)

That 3 minute video was 20 minutes of me holding the phone. I did one in landscape before that one and cramped up my arm really bad. It hurt. I'm ok.

    This place.

I can nearly see my place in the 3rd pic, just blocked by the left hill.

P.S. Got a sunshower coming back down, guess I should get the car washed.

What water fowl is this. Looks like a lean and long duck with skinny neck and beak. Dives underwater near what I see as 2 foot carps, yet does not seem to be bringing up any fish in its beak. Not even little ones. Stays down for up to 25 seconds and can swim 25 feet away. I know the pics are crappy.

I think it is this bird, The Double Crested Cormorant. Based on the color visible in a blown up pic I took. And the reference pic, below.

Cold Spring Harbor (23JUN2019) -- a great little drive out 40 min out of NYC where you can catch some clean air, peer into the sun to see the little boats, and ruin your knees hiking up hills. I used to live not too far from here, but never bothered checking it out.

    Thin Ice vs Coyote

Smack in the middle of the lake. You can see some broken ice in the distance.

After 45 minutes in the water and a great effort by Longmont Fire, sadly the Coyote did not make it.

I was in Boulder recently. Some very nice trails and could only get a taste. This is Red Rocks Trail on the western edge of Boulder, off of the Boulder Canyon Road. The trail s pretty short all around but very scenic. Weather was great that day. I came in during a cool spell. I didn't have time to do ask much hiking as I liked because I needed a day or two to adjust to the altitude and dry weather coming from 11ft sea level and high humidity on the Gulf of Mexico. (Heading up furthest west 8200ft shortly after I arrived probably didn't help). I want to hit the trails around the Flatirons toward the southwest next time. Thinking of buying a mobile home in Boulder for a getaway spot since everything is $10000000 now.

We skipped Rocky Mountain National Park to avoid crowds. In addition the regular summer crowd, there was a roving band of 10000 homeless people "living off the land" going through the area during the time of our stay. We headed up to Nederland instead, home of the Frozen Dead Guy.

We drove off on side roads to and from Nederland, hoping to see moose, but nope.
