@netforce Have been playing Dota Auto chess (as mentioned a few pages ago, also played dota) and tried underlords here and there. Don't worry about learning actual Dota for this - I have found there is very little correlation between unit roles in auto chess vs in actual Dota. When I first played Auto chess, I actually tried to combine/line up units like you would in actual dota2 and found it to be detrimental - I stopped that very quickly.

Also, I prefer Dota Auto Chess over Underlords at the moment due to being able to see the other islands/boards and player summaries easier (useful when making decisions). Underlords is maybe 1-5% less RNG style gaming though (my preference, not necessarily good or bad).

The Android version of Auto Chess - which you can play on PC through BlueStacks or similar - is a pretty significant improvement on the DotA version, though you do need to look past the... Uh... Chinesiums. I'm a bit of a convert, though some of the character voices make me cringe.

Agree Auto Chess vs Underlords, I think Auto Chess has a much higher skill ceiling and enjoy it more.

I gave Underlords a go and didn't like it. After all those years still too addicted to plain Dota2.

Anyone here into retro gaming? I've been on a bit of a tear lately (ever since the Analogue Mega Sg came out).

I have a freckleshacked GBC and I’m really digging it. I went from a DMG to a GBA back in the day so I am gladly revisiting all the DX games I missed along with some classics I’ve only played on other consoles via emulation/eshop such as oracle of ages/oracle of seasons. Such an amazing system and the screen is really well done.

If Incubation BIP4 falls into the retro group, that's what I return to at least once a year.

I like to get back to Warhammer Dark Omen. It's a pity there's no legit follow up to this gem of a game.

Shadows Die Twice...this game is glorious.

Got the first ending and am currently working through the other 3.

I'm not sure it tops Bloodborne for me. It may actually be a better game with better mechanics, but the mysterious Victorian setting of Bloodborne really did it for me.

Still, it's good enough that I'm acting like a dumb kid again staying up til 2 or 3 in the morning playing.

Well, Bloodborne is in my book a case of an unbeatable game. It has everything; mood, lovecraftian horror story, mechanics, hundreds of hours of gameplay, replayability, graphics, bosses etc. I hope we'll get to see Bloodborne's successor.

I agree re Bloodborne. This game really is one of the best things I played. I wasted many hours on DS3, but chalice dungeons in Bloodborne took large chunk of my free time in 2018. Even though it was repetitive, that rewarding sensation after finally farming off shape gem after hundreds of attempts was stupid good. I miss this.

Have you tried that with the Sega CD? I’ve read the Mega SG is a solid machine- no lag and such. These are region free, no? Wonder if it would play a Japanese backup (Monster World IV, etc.)

The majority of my gaming life is spent playing retro machines. Recently got a region-free modded Saturn, which I never played much during the 90s (spent most of my time with SNES, PS1 and N64). Oldest system is an RCA Intellivision. I don’t like to play on emulators unless I have to (I use MAME for stuff like Progear, etc that was never released outside of the arcade).

Exception are my mini-NES/SNES, which I bought to fill the gap after after sold off my actual system and games for “adult” reasons. I will probably be buried with my GBA collection though. Hands down my favorite platform.

All this talk about bloodborne is making me want to buy it, specially since I love darker themed games.

Guess that game is next in my queue after I finish bloodstained, which is a nice change of pace from PC gaming and made me remember all the fun I had with Castlevania shadows of the night.

bloodborne is worth your time for sure. It's a pity that it never came to PC, but two geeks of our team bought PS4 for this and they said it was money well spent. If you grab BB, be sure to but The Old Hunters expansion. Also cool and challenging.

    Thanks!

Yep. GBA goes to work with me everyday. That’s just my bedroom stash, home consoles are in the game room downstairs:

Rest is in storage. My wife is gracious enough to let me have this much out.

If my sons don’t want them when I die then yes, dibs are yours.:D

Suikoden brings back many fond memories from years back. Props to you, that's an excellent collection with many titles triggering bouts of nostalgia for my JRPG-obsessed self, haha.

And damn now I wanna play an Armored Core game again, it's been ages.

Thank you! JRPGs feed the soul.

Hoping From revisits Armored Core soon. I’d love to see an open world mech game ala Sekiro. Until then I have to settle for getting my ass kicked by my son in Nine Breaker.
