It would be a good time to find out how much Hifiman charges to replace the driver.

It's a bit surprise that nobody is talking about HFM Arya.

HFM claims that Arya is basically HEKv2 (same transducers) with a cheaper frame. At least its price (1.6k) is much affordable than hek1 and hek2. Not sure whether or not arya is performance-wise compatible with hek2 though.

Structure-wise, arya has swivels, which were critically missed in sundara and ananda.

I’ve had the HE1000se for about a week after a few years with the HE1000V2. I’ll be the first to admit that it was not the most rational decision, but I really like the HE1000 sound signature, and I’ve not been able to find an alternative.

The SE is of course very similar to the V2, though the SE seems to have fixed much of the splashy treble, and there’s a bit more weight to the attacks. Still a soft feathery signature overall. They say the SE is much more efficient, but it still needs plenty of power.

For what it’s worth, I never had any quality issues with the HE1000V2, it was still it great shape when I sent it back.

Did you notice any changes in the soundtstage, bass or resolution?

Going from memory I don't feel confident about any changes to soundstage, bass or resolution. The soundstage is still wide for a planar, bass is somewhat amorphous, and resolution rivals an HD800.

Not a huge fan of McIntosh, but I really dig your setup.

Thanks @Forza AudioWorks , I saved for over 10 years for this, don't regret it a bit.
