Apologies and please help me move it this is posted in the wrong forum.

The situation is: I was browsing facebook in a coffee shop, then went home and opened it back only to be kicked out (different IPs confusion due my laptop bugging perhaps?). I recalled the message was something along the lines of "Facebook detecting suspicious activities on my account".

I tried logging back in, resetting my password but was unable to do the phone verification since that was an old number I have not used since 2017.

Unfortunately, no other verification methods (such as emails and identify friends you messaged recently)were not available for this occasion, they want phone.

So now, they locked down my account and I'm known as "Facebook user"

Does any know what I can do to regain access to my account? Or, a way to just contact facebook. Because just like their notoriety suggests, I have not had any luck finding a way to reach them. Thank you all.

Facebook account may be just one of the problems. Did you try to get to facebook from your phone or something else
I hope the message "Facebook detecting suspicious activities on my account" was not in your email, and you did not click on any link - that can have disastrous consequences. I get stuff like that from "paypal" and it is always spam.
Did you use VPN in the coffee shop? If not someone else, seating next to you, could hack your laptop, the link to facebook did not actually go to facebook anymore. In any case I would focus on your laptop for now. Download Malware or something like that and scan the hell out of it.
Cannot help you with contacting Facebook, do not have account there or on any social media, spent too much time in IT working on Internet banking systems and what I have seen scared me for life.

Don't think downloading malware will do any good, maybe Malwarebytes? :)

Poor humour aside, I am sorry to hear of the trouble. Messy as social media is they're kinda necessary in certain contexts nowadays, plus all the sentiment built up over years. Facebook does have an online helpdesk of sorts, but it might be a long and involved process considering you don't have the mobile number anymore. Same thing happened to me ages back, but thankfully the account that got axed was relatively new and so was no loss.

You're supposed to be able to submit an appeal using the associated email address. Hopefully that works?

Thank you, That's good reminder to be very suspicious every time someone gives you a "good" advice :)

@wormcycle : it was a message from the facebook website as I was trying to log on.
@Lyander: will try that, thank you. UPDATED: that only works on account that were "disabled", which wasnt my case.
