Haha, well in the same way that the song is very much a product of its time (the racist undertones completely went over my head as a kid), I admit to still loving it, as I do many Looney Tunes episodes. Yes, even the ones with, er, less subtle jabs at now-highly sensitive things. I cannot help that it was my childhood, given the societal context it's just something that was, and happened— as with many things in life, it's highly unfortunate but also something we can learn from as we grow older and ostensibly wiser.

Warner Brothers themselves, or a highly skilled PR company, put out a statement that I found elegant and poignant; this is something I respect them for because it's not often you see big companies admitting to wrongdoing. I'm not for censorship as a rule of thumb, but also understand that though there may be value derived even in filth some things are merely so abhorrent as to be worthy of expunging from human consciousness entirely.

Thankfully, that song isn't one of them :p

On behalf of the cat: Thanks for the compliments! This is the butthole Siamese that bit my mum and still tries to murder the other cat.

While blue eyes in Siamese breeds is not (usually) associated with deafness the way it is in breeds not normally blue-eyed, it is associated with poor vision.

Couple that with cat's normally poor daylight vision - too much light - and inability to focus on objects less than 1/2-1 body length away and you have a very challenging pet.

Are those some sort of location-transmitting devices on those cats?

I think they are going to a rave party or something. They need those accessories for the their lasers beams.

    Exactly - they're laser cats.

But more seriously, they are Tile bluetooth location tags. When we moved into our new (but very old) house we were worried they might get lost or try to hide somewhere, so I put the Tiles on their collars. We ended up just leaving them on as it's so easy to find them now if they ever do get locked in somewhere or there's any risk that they got outside. They're very social cats so they don't really hide. I actually highly recommend the Tiles for this purpose, and they now have replaceable batteries, so they last much longer.

PS - In case anyone is interested here's the link - https://www.thetileapp.com/en-us/

This is all news to me and I'm suddenly sympathetic towards the little butt hole. Huh.

All cats are in principle nice, but some owners might be incompatible with their cats....

Looks like one of my boys, Uppie, when he was a kitten.

    Great looking cat!

Yeah, the faces on the Siamese and similar breeds definitely darken with age, moving from the nose area back around the rest of the face. Here's what one of our twin Snowshoe cats looked like as a kitten (he's the one in the back in my earlier post).
