This is a limited - 3k bottles so actually limited - bottling usually only available if you go up to islay for the yearly do, but this year they had an online raffle for the chance to buy it.

Wouldn't have it otherwise, I wouldn't take a plane to Scotland for booze, so uhh .. thanks, COVID? I think?

Manhattan. Black Maple Hill bourbon (Oregon, sadly), Carpano Antica, Angostura bitters, Griottines cherries.

The best $20 Pinot I've had in a long time. Drank it with a couple slices of homemade pizza.

If I'd known it was going to taste this good, I would have saved it -- so I'm glad I didn't know.

Local store had a surplus of wine that they normally sold for business functions. When sales tanked with work-from-home, they had a big sale. I put on my protective gear and bought a couple of cases of diverse Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, and Argentinian reds that kind-of matched my not-so-sophisticated preferences. I did not know what to expect from this bottle but I was pleasantly surprised. Not subtle, nose reminds me of the summer smells of Mediterranean scrubland, mouthy, earthy finish. Really needed this punch to get me out of the house sensorially.

Tanqueray Ten. And St-Germain instead of sugar.

I usually have Martin Miller's in that cocktail. I thought the stronger flavor of the Tanq Ten might accentuate the mint and elderflower, but it overwhelmed them and the ginger dominated.

It was still good, but not as good as with Martin Miller's.

    Omg this is delicious.

Elderflower Smash. Made like any other smash, but with St-Germain as the base.

Blood and Sand, made with a 50-50 blend of that Laphroaig and Johnnie Walker Black.
