Hello Jeff! 60 watts Class A?! How do you keep it from catching on fire? Seriously though, is it kinda hot? I see those massive heat sinks but is that enough cooling?

    I'm impressed. Are you content?

By the way, what source(s) are you listening to, Jeff?

I also run Pass diy into .7s but unlike Jeff the M2X provides enough for my conservative listening habits. I tend to listen at low level (65 to 70dB) for the majority and the speakers are within 5m from the listening area. I do use a sub to reinforce the bass at these levels and I use Dirac to deal with room nodes. Do I think I should build behemoths like Jeff's.... Yes, who wouldn't want those beauties and size does matter no matter what they say but, for me, it is not practical and I am a happy camper with the way things are set up.
(as an aside, the F4 I built doesn't fit in my rack or it would be the more obvious choice)

The cases are a bit misleading: those heatsink fins are 3" deep rather than the more common 2", so they're quite a bit bigger than they look. But yeah, they run hot. Not much of a problem in Ireland, but they'd definitely increase your air conditioning bill in warmer climes.

There are two sets of output devices in them: a set of vertical mosfets and a set of lateral mosfets. The front-end boards I'm currently running are BA1-type architecture and drive the verticals. I have two other front-end designs, one which is F5-ish and drives the laterals, and one which is Pioneer M-22-ish (actually a Hitachi architecture) and drives either (with different resistor and zener values). But I haven't gotten around to trying any of those yet.

Source is a Metrum Onyx through my DIY HPA-1.

Oh, and like dB I also run a sub (mine has an integrated class D plate amplifier).
