I was a Lego fiend as a kid and all the way up to middle school. I was lucky enough to have semi wealthy or upper middle class parents and they bought me tons of LEGO’s. I’d first assemble the kit and then take it apart and add it to my collection of parts. I at one point was staying in a kind of double room : two rooms seperated by French doors. The front room was boring devoted to bed and clothes etc. the second room was literally a lego workshop. The whole room was devoted to LEGO’s, I had pieces all over the floor and in bins but totally organized in my mind. I made my own fleet of space ships and rovers. I filled my closet with my creations. I’ll be honest they were damn good. Could have been sold by LEGO. I spent hours and hours making new creations, super focused. While other kids zoned out at TV.

Then I hit puberty and started thinking too much and questioning too much and decided material possessions were bad and I walked into my closet and tore all my creations apart. One of the worst decisions in my life. I’d love to still have them. They were really works of art and artwork isn’t part of the harmful “possessions” category. I still feel a sting thinking about the loss.

My wife and I are building this:

    https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/haunted-house-10273

It is the Lego haunted house and includes several hidden features.

I am rediscovering my love of Lego now that we have space to build sets. I am really impressed with how far the sets have advanced. I last built kits about 25 years ago.

Just finished building 911 turbo, it's pretty cool, with working steering, realistic looking engine, and just looks cool

It was a pretty tight fit with the turbo. Pretty cool you could build the targa model, or the turbo model, with the wider wheel arches, and turbo. I had to go turbo, love the wide and the big spoiler/vent thing, and the turbo and intercooler in the engine bay

Guessing you probably don't want to take it apart again straight away, but if you want to kill some time at a later date then there is a guy on Rebrickable who has worked out several alternative builds that you can do with just the parts from that set. The coolest is probably the Lamborghini Countach here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-82416/firas_legocars/10295-lamborghini-countach/#details but the Corvette C3 he did also looks great

    Wow that's pretty cool.

I wanted to eventually see if I could make it into a crazy RWB porche, I don't think it would be too hard if I could find the right peices

    Started this today:

The spring mechanism on the inside to insert the cartridge is very well done. Feels a lot like the real thing.
