    In the digital domain thus far the only way I know of to easily be able to reverse the phase of just one channel is by using DSP.

    In analog it can be 'easy', when using balanced (not SE cables), or at the phono cart, to affect this change.

    I can't get past "Install & Activate" for Waves Central. I tried deleting all the cache and crap in Windows outlined here, but no joy.

    I managed to seemingly install properly, but the plug-in crashes when loading in DDMF.
    Have you tried making an offline installation on a USB disk?

    Yeah, I saw that. Just tried it and same thing: "Sorry, an error has occurred during Installation." This is on my Windoze 7 laptop. Gonna try it on a WinXP machine, but I have to download the installer for Waves ver. 8: a frickin' 1.2GB file. It took me several tries to get the 152MB latest Waves Central package, so who knows how long this is gonna take.

    Update: I finally got Waves Central installed on the Win7 machine. Turns out Wi-Fi was turned on and it didn't like that connection. However, I forgot that I tried to install the NX plugin to try in foobar2k in January, but couldn't get it to work. So now it says I've already demoed it. Have contacted support and will see what they say. Turns out I've already "demoed" it, meaning it's already licensed to my account. Installing it now.

    I'm usually pretty good figuring out computer crap, but getting this Waves stuff working has been totally non-intuitive for me.

    FWIW, I had one interaction with Waves tech support wrt nx and they were good. Maybe worth a shot.

    I knew this wasn't going to be smooth sailing. I don't want to clutter this thread up, so maybe someone can volunteer to help me in a conversation?

    I've got Waves Central installed and then the NX demo installed. When I try to DSP Studio > Manage Plug-ins > Add VST Plug-in, I get "Failed to install plug-in" with both WaveShell VST 9.x.dll and WaveShell VST 9.x_x64.dll.

    I tried moving them from C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugIns to C:\Program Files (x86)\J River\Media Center 20\Plugins with no change.

    Agreed. It was a bit of a pain for me to get it working. It required many reboots, reinstalls, more reboots until it finally started without errors. I had to reinstall DDMF after installing Waves NX to get it to load properly. I also discovered that the Waves dll was installed in two locations; both in X:\Program Files\ etc and in X:\Program\ etc.

    Can't remember what finally dit the trick but once I got it running on my two systems it has been running 24/7 without any issues - including a update of Waves Central

    Changeling edumacated me on the need for DDMF (I thought it was only for polarity reversal). Now I have it installed and get the same issue as you when trying to load NX into the Metaplugin. I'm wondering if the Immersion Virtualizer is worth all this trouble.

    @FallingObjects

    Recently found out that you can run 6SN7's out of the Vali 2. I'm curious, @atomicbob how do you think using a Vali 2 with a 6SN7 tube in it as a pre-amp to the Jot would fare versus the Saga itself? You have more experience with all three components than I do, so that's why I'm asking for your opinion on this.

    ^^ 6CG7 is the same tube in a 9-pin bottle. That will save you a lot on adapters and look less ridiculous. A single 6CG7 should be cheap enough to just try for yourself and see. You could try 6GU7 also (6v version of a 12BH7).

    The jump to JRMC 22 includes the sox renderer engine, which I hear as a step up.

    Just say'n.
