Last pull out of the fourth box, but it might be the gem of the whole set I brought home: The Concert For Bangla Desh. This whole kit is in amazing shape considering it's been sitting in a basement for the better part of thirty years.

Couldn't find a decent video I liked to link, so here's a story about the concert coming together: https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/culture/article/george-harrison-concert-for-bangladesh

The killer line is about a third of the way down the page:

Unlimited Love is one of my favorite releases in recent years and this track has been the highlight for me. Top 5 RHCP tracks all time imo. Gives me nostalgia from early 00s RHCP tracks like Dosed, Stadium Arcadium and Hey.

This has to be my favorite track so far on the new RHCP album...head nodding funky, and I can't help but crank it up. Feel good hit of 2022.

I was pleasantly surprised by Unlimited Love as well. I didn't listen to the previous 2 RHCP albums out of fear that it would ruin my nostalgic teenage memories of the band. But this one holds up to the classics.

It took both Rick Ruben and John Frusciante to make it happen.

I listen to a lot of jazz nowadays, but I think because I didn't get into it until much later I have poorly developed taste and I have no idea (though it is improving) whether what I am listening to is crap or not, generally. But I am liking this right now:

I'm a fan of the Aristocrats' blend of musical genres as well as their stellar musicianship. Their next album is going to be a collaboration with the Primuz Chamber Orchestra, and the just released single sounds really good to my ears.

"The Ballad of Bonnie & Clyde"

Just pulled it off the shelf for a listen after a couple of years. Fun music for sure.

I like discovering new artists. For me Agnes Obel was a nice discovery and Hania is right up there too. The recording sounds really good for youtube and some nice bass vibes work great whilst enjoying your beverage or herb of choice.

Once you get in 9 min or so you see the beauty in her work. Looping well thought out melodies like this is a freaking art form that can be mesmerizing.

IWY and Getaway have their moments but a completely different vibe from early 00s chili peppers. No doubt Frusciante's return have a clear influence on the music's direction and is my favorite release from them since By the Way almost two decades ago. God I'm feeling old.

I'll need to give it a listen. Glad to hear discerning fans (yourself, at least!) think it holds up to the classic RHCP releases.

A 2021 debut album that stood the test of time for me. Fans of Janis Ian, early Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake might want to check this out:
