Loaner: Yggdrasil LIM

Received today from @Syzygy. I haven’t had a chance to open the box yet, but I will later tonight.

 

@rhythmdevils Can I get in on this for Michigan? I don't think I will like this more than my Spring 3 KTE, but there may only be one way to know for sure.

I'll be shipping the loaner to @MisterRogers either tomorrow or Monday. He'll be out of town until Tuesday, so I want to make sure he's at home to sign for it when it arrives.

I'm glad so many folks have had a chance to put ears on this version in a low stress way! I think the impressions so far, and those incoming, should help a LOT of folks considering what they want in a near-end-game-ish DAC with different flavors.

 

I am due to post my impressions - just need a short break from work to wrap them up.

 

Just received and warming up/listening now. I missed the UPS guy by 10 minutes on Saturday! Very interesting so far.

 

On its way to @Tchoupitoulas today. I have to gather all my notes and will post impressions this week. There are really only 2-3 consistent observations that I could come up with.

 

The Yggdrasil has landed! The LiM unit arrived safely just now and is working fine.

Re. "less is more" - I've been telling my wife for years that size doesn't matter. If the LiM bests my Bifrost 2 - which now looks tiny by comparison - I might have a hard time justifying an upgrade...

 

I'm going to pass on this loaner simply due to timing - I'm going to be traveling for the next few weeks and won't have time to do a decent evaluation.

Want me to move you down the list? Geographics are no problem if you are delayed like this. I don't care, I'd rather you get to hear it I you want to.

 

If you don't mind shipping it back to NY after it returns to CA/WA, sure I'd love to hear it. Or I suppose dematted could hold it for extra long, then it'd be local when I get back on 7/15.

Dealers choice, but yes I am still interested to listen and share some thoughts.

Received the LIM from Vansen today. Haven't opened yet, but the box looks in reasonable condition considering how well traveled it is.
