Even the product page says it's mostly a background filler with limited volume, but it's a nice idea and something different from just plunking down a bluetooth speaker. Some of those wood finishes are also lovely and would look very nice in a swanky office. Given the size and small power requirements, someone with far more skill than I could even build a small class D amp (maybe even with battery and bluetooth module) into the bass

I didn't realize it at first, but their domain is decwaretinyradials.com and they are from Decware, known for tube equipment and high efficiency speakers. They also sell DIY build plans for these speakers.

I am in love with these hand-crafted Japanese BLH standmounts by Hora Audio. Wow.

So wow. But am I correct that the bookshelves are 82dB efficient yet the recommend max power is only 20w?

It's a single 2-3" driver. The specs sound about right

Reading between the lines @AdvanTech, the driver is this scanspeak in the standmounts, which Troels used in a small desktop design apparently. Who would have thought to use this in a standmount size BLH?! and one that looks so damn good. It makes me wonder about scaling up that cabinet to work with a more traditional 6" or 8" full ranger.

@Gazny All you need in life: some Japanese hand-crafted desk speakers, one book, and a lightbulb in a block of glass.

Funny think is, I was just looking at that scanspeak driver yesterday. I'll lean into superstition and say it is calling me over the Mark Audio

Think something similar to this, I always struggle with back ported speakers, and these just seem to do the trick with a down firing position for a desk or book shelf. Been meaning to do some wood working.

Speakers are wonderful! Definite wet-dream stuff there, for sure. Oh, to actually touch them!:D

The room? Well, maybe it is as as full of echoes as a cathedral, and the guy only listens to classical pipe organ music, or... Even though it looks like part of a an old castle, maybe it was constructed to exact dimensions for the speakers.

    That would be.... wow.

    Whoa! Thank you for that.

I can't help the thought that there is a percentage of audiophoolery in a system like that, although the absence of many of the sillier things is evident. But for once, I say that some humility and sense of WTF, this thing is so magnificent, and so expensive, that who cares if a few unnecessaries get thrown in!

    This is what matters:
We all want, and to some extent get, that being-there feeling from our systems. But it comes at many levels. What I read is that if the this reviewer/listener is the experienced concert-goer and audiophile as mentioned, then this system might be one of the very best in the world.

    Wow. Beyond awesome.

I sold my Fonkens and picked up these beauties from a guy in Canada at a great price. Opera-Consonance Solo MK2. Really nice cabinet with a 12inch coax (compression driver). The driver is made in England, not sure who is making it and then put together in China. Its big (22.5 x 14.5 x 12.5)and weights 45lbs. It is 96db efficient, perfect for my studio b with the 300b's. My wife loves the sound and so do I, very revealing, clean and clear with good bass down to 45hz. Don Better Audio in Ohio sells them. Horrible room no space at all, they still sound really good. Considering putting bypass caps on the crossovers( yes I'm a tweaker who knows nothing), anyone have experience with doing that?
    Fun and games
    best,
    Josh
