This one may seem weird for me but I’m a sucker for a well-done Christmas classic. I have literally never listened to any other Brad Paisley and I’m not a fan of modern country but he nails the classic country vibe perfectly in this song. The gorgeous pedal steel fills, the wonky telecaster, the fiddle, that satisfying staccato at times.. this is a fave every Christmas season.

 

A couple more Christmas faves (I could go on and on). These two are completely opposite, raucous vs angelic.

Let It Snow...Let It Reindeer is my favorite Christmas album of all time. Listening to it right now actually. There's the pop punk side of the album too, that comes through in more of their other music, but that's the minority of the album. Beautiful piano and acoustic guitar stuff throughout. Some of the music (especially songs that I think are originals as I haven't heard anywhere else, like the below) are so thoughtful and beautiful and really make me consider my relationship with the Savior this time of year.

I took my daughter to this with some friends of ours and their kids this Halloween. It was racier than I remember, but it was a hilarious night full of genuine fans in costume, sing alongs, and interaction with the movie. On the way out, a super charming drag queen reached out to my daughter and said, "Oh sweety, this will be a conversation with your parents". It was such fun and and we have been listening to the soundtrack nonstop here. It's a proper rock opera.

BTW best title sequence to a musical film ever. Picturing the voice of the movie.
