I was going to order one, but then I heard a couple of other Cavalli amps and decided against it. I am eagerly waiting for EC Black Widow though.

Did you hear the LC also??
How does it compare with the other mega dollar cavalli's?? Does it justify the 600$ price tag??

I've been waffling on this as well. Transportable seems nice, but for the price I keep wondering if I could get more bang-for-the-buck elsewhere.

I'll probably see how the Project Polaris works out for me and if I like it, I'll plow the $600 into a Bimbo.

But this is still extremely tempting....

I had one on order, then I found a good deal on a NFB-28. The extra features for less money and similar amp performance swayed me. I'd still love to hear the LC though.

I can't wait to hear some impressions, especially some comparisons between the carbon and V2

I wouldn't be to sure about that my friend has the NFB and he was really impressed with the carbon, but to each their own

Have one on order as well. Heard a bit with my balanced HE 560s and didn't hear much out of place. Will have the Gungnir Multibit feeding it via balanced cables. Also planning on getting a sennheiser HD 650 with balanced cable as well to listen to.

I am going to use an Emotiva Stealth DC-1 to drive the Liquid Carbon at the office and a Chord Mojo in transportable mode.

I had heard it compared to a tube amp, which kind of dissuaded me from the LC. I would still love to hear it, but the 28 has held up quite well when I've done head to head comparisons with much more expensive gear (Lry/Bifrost, Auralic Stack, etc).

Oh yeah cavalli uses a really sweet portable dac in his demo that + LCDs = syrup. The amps pretty good though, but if your happy with what you got :piratemug:

I am assuming your using the headfi definition of "tubeby"

Does that mean the LC is neutral or does it still have a warm, tubey tilt? Just curious as I'm thinking about what DAC I should get (Bifrost Multibit is apparently also warm, could be too much together).

I don't think it was warm, full yeah (music had presence not cut out) but not warm. To be honest I didn't really find the protobimby that warm either when stacked with the lyr 2 using my paradox. Slightly yeah but not as warm of a dac compared with wm8741 dac, they are usually warmer.

I think the bass in the Yggdrasil and Gungnir Multibit is equally present but has much more definition so the Bifrost Multibit just seems warm due to missing definition.
