It's not often expensive products are worth it, but this $35,000 4K Sony laser projector (995ES) I am reviewing is freaking awesome. Jul 20, 2020

I should probably clarify that this is a 4k resolution projector that sells for 35,000. The laser light source allows insane contrast

I spent 8 hours re-integrating all 3 subs in my theater using a MiniDSP 2x4HD then running Anthem ARC genesis <500Hz. Holy shit, amazing!

Legacy speakers for all 7 bed channels (Focus SE, Marquis HD, Silhouette Pro & Phantom HD), and KEF CI200RR atmos overheads. Subs are Seaton Sound SubMersive (2x HP+ and 1x F2+)

Qobuz would be perfect if it had radio. It drives me crazy how all we really need is for Spotify to wake up and smell the lossless.

Roon is expensive as player software. I recall my internal debate, and when I relized I had invested in equipment, and how I dropped $2k on this or that, I realized that Roon was actully priced reasonably given how it fits into this pleasure seeking hobby...

@Elnrik I use roon all the time. I just dislike the fact I can't use it while out for a run.

Nice meeting you too! Always nice to share some music with other folks who are into audio. Thanks for loaning me your amp - it's a surprisingly awesome unit given the size.

When you spend 20 minutes failing to explaining to your boss why you carry an RME ADI2-Pro to work with your HD-650's in a pelican case.

@jowls I am really enjoying it. I needed the ADC for my REW use in the home theater etc, but it's a great DAC/AMP and has become my go-to portable solution. Thanks again!

I'm loving Sonarworks Systemwide for Spotify EQ, but I really wish Spotify supported WASAPI.

yeah totally. but even with the MQA titles on tidal, does that override the non-MQA content or do they both exist on there?

AFAIK they both exist but I chose not to give Tidal any money while they're in bed with MQA, whether I use the MQA streams or not.

The other issue is that Tiday's library is a lot smaller than Spotify's for esoteric stuff, which is most of what I listen to.
