While the results are all that matters, humans don't work that way. Pride of ownership is a factor. No one *wants* to say they own something made by a company called "Topping", "Yulong" or "SMSL" etc.
There is so much written in English about the importance of a good brand name translation when selling into China. The reverse seems not be be the case. Off the top of my head: Huawei, Gree (air conditioners), LeEco (TVs).
I live in China, I still can't bring myself to buy things with these stupid names- the mental distaste of looking at that name for years is not worth the monetary saving.
As a Korean growing up in the states, I was always a little embarrassed with brand names like "Lucky Goldstar." Didn't help that back then most Korean-made products were perceived (rightly so) as crap. But I still marvel at how brands like LG, Samsung have remade themselves over time, even becoming cool. Hifiman will always be corny as hell tho - should be renamed Fang Doctor Audio™.
