I'm still really liking these. Played with placement and how close they are too the wall to find sweet spot with bass. Bass isn't super tight, I bet bi amping would help, but I'm still enjoying way too much to care. Horn mids have a sound, honk isn't quite the right word, but it doesn't bother me. I can play all genres of music without feeling like I'm missing something significant. You thinking about auditioning?

On my list of things to look into when my kids get past the toddler stage. I’ve read a lot about their great dynamics, but how is the resolution and micro? Anything lost there compared to your old omegas?

Yea dynamics are certainly a feature. Macro dynamics are great. Micro, I feared I was going to lose out on, because Omega was so good at that wide open detailed sound. Forte doesn't sound light and airy, but still retains most of the detail. And now I actually have treble and sparkle that I was missing before. Kids will grow soon enough and theybwill be enjoying your speakers with you.

The Klipsch 3-ways like a huge amount of space between the speakers and the listener. If you were in a large enough room and managed to get closer to 20 ft away from them, the airyness will be there.

Lol no chance to get 20 feet away in my NYC apartment. My listening spot would be in a 12' x 10' space at one end of a 20' room. Would be doing mostly low to moderate volume listening. I've read reviews that say Fortes are still great at low volume, but wondering if these are too much speaker for my kind of setup?

You can't really have too much speaker when it comes to horns. There's more reflections in smaller rooms so larger horns tend to perform better there because of their better pattern control. Consider the 2-way KI-396 like I have too, Metropolis Lake Outfitters does a special version with in matte black with the flypoints deleted and they're the same price as the Forte III for a whole lot more speaker.

Im roughly 10 feet away from them in a pretty big room, interesting to hear that they open up further the more you can seperate from them.

I agree on the lower level listening level, I find it pleasant. Still get bass and detail while listening at around 80db.

Yeah, it takes some distance for the tweeter to integrate to the mid properly and it's the high frequencies that give you "air".
