We’re all addicts. The first step is admitting you have a problem. The “end game” is never obtainable. You either get bored, broke or move onto some other pursuit.
The current Schiit amps are good enough. If the Lyr 3 doesn't work, I'll happily downgrade to the Vali 2 and call it a day. Until something breaks, it's contentment and music listening from here on out.
I'll still enjoy hanging out here, going to meets, etc. But, it's for the people instead of the gear. I've finally stopped clicking on the Used Deals Thread when I see new posts. It's liberating :P
I think it's healthy to step away for a while every so often to break the "addiction" cycle. And also to run calculators to see how much you're giving up in retirement by consistently wasting money on hobbies like this. I still want to upgrade stuff, but it takes years instead of days or months now.
