Untethered portapros are legit but I realized they don't support AAC which is a huge miss. Apt-x alone is not ubiquitous. They should have either gone full Android and supported LDAC or full Apple and had AAC support.
Not sure if you're heard the Porta Pro's, but imagine an HD650 but sounds decent from a smartphone and looks like an 80's hifi invention and doesn't block out sound when that would be problematic (around car traffic, need to hear coworkers, etc) and is cheap enough that someone with disposable income would consider the headphones essentially disposable. Value city, right?
* You walk outside for exercise (crazy, I know) and want a few seconds to hear them coming and say goodbye-cruel-world before a crazy motorist mows you down
* You'd rather hear music than coworkers inane shittalking but actually do need to hear them when they holla for you
Makes sense. I only listen: in my dorm, in the library, or in the gym. In dorm I use hd650, library my ca Orion's, gym some cheap iems. I guess I have no use for them. I had the ksc75, and they sounded great. Apparently similar to porta pro.
My main reason to get wireless is for the 65" Samsung flatscreen we have. For a variety of reasons I can't really watch my TV/Movies until the kids sleep, at which point I can't use speakers. I could watch on my Computer/iPhone/tablet, but sometimes I really want to watch on a large screen. Transferring my rig to the TV and back is a pain, so wireless is the best option.
@Cspirou that is the right price. More would be too much given the limitations. If you do pick one up, experiment with ALL the nose pieces and settings then take a while to dial in each eye. Once it's set up it's like a portable projector beaming into your retinas.
