I saw this. Wasn't this for in-ear transducers, the bass boost being there to compensate for the lack of visceral impact you get without speakers? I remember reading something along those lines.
I think it's bull, but its being for IEMs makes more sense than on-ears.
The on-ear target looks similar to the older version, with a hair more volume <1kHz and a nice chunk lopped off 2-4kHz, which I think many might enjoy.
Ahhh you're right! I've read it wrong, thought that the green line said "OE" and not "IE"...sharp eyes as always! Me? I'll never make a penny as a sniper hahaha
Nah dude, I missed it first glance too. It wasn't until I read through the copy that I was sure of the differences :P
Now, the matter of whether or not there SHOULD be a +8dB bass boost for IEMs is another thing entirely. I've started gravitating to darker cans (still far from Luckbad levels, I think), but that might be a bit much for others.
I like "dark" too, but not with a bass boost so big that interfers with the mids...something like the b&k curve for speakers but translated to headphones would be nice.
Ohhh hell yeah that'd be awesome. I seem to like BBC dips too though, and maybe not so much air up top (esp. ~11kHz). One good thing that's happened since I signed up here is that I seem to have a better handle of my preferences, haha.
