Didn't Todd Howard say that TES6 will be developed AFTER the "Starfield" (their new IP) release?
Which will in-itself possibly be (at least) 1.5 years away, since they didn't even have any in-engine/live-game-demo footage.... so it must be wayyy too early still, probably not till the next E3 '19.
So, pretty sure TES6 will be a game for the Future Xbox / PS5 / PC, like 3-4+ years away. Excited nonetheless though! :D
So it'll be in this order of development/release:
1) "Fallout 76" (Always-Online/Survival/MMO-esk/RPG).
2) Starfield (New IP: space-travel type RPG, ala Mass Effect).
3) The Elder Scrolls 6 (For future consoles/PC).
PS: By the way, TES6 teaser trailer had a gigantic meteor crater... look closely; oh the possibilities! :]
@A1Gear Starfield is being developed at Arkane, hopefully it isn’t another Bioshock alike. Todd Howard also mentioned that Bethesda now have three internal studios.
Thing is there was quite a bit of multiplayer for one the last holdouts in single player. TES 6 will probabaly integrate a lot more “online”, and at least have co-op.
Could be almost anything at this point. High Rock sure, but also Hammerfell or Akavir. Would almost make sense to go to Akavir after Skyrim, more blank slate to work with. Personally I would have loved to go to Elsweyr and just have 80% of the game be sand dunes, oases and cat people.... lol.
@A1Gear Have you seen any confirmation of who is developing Starfield? VG247 reported it was Arkane, but in an interview with Todd Howard he spoke as if it were internal. He also confirmed that TES6 was only in pre-production. Which makes 2022 or later look much more realistic!
