Starting with James Bond tunes, aka "music to feel like you've accomplished something by".

So you are using multiple Vidars, but from SE outs on Saga?

BTW I am running the SCM19s with Vidar as well (now with SMS-200Ultra > Yggdrasil A2 > Freya). Sounds awesome.

@rlow yeah bi-amping, one Vidar per speaker. There's no kill like overkill right? :)

But you’re not using the balanced-in so they run in monoblock mode?

I was going to say "Isn't that a bit overkill for the ATC since they're just bookshelfs" but then I saw their specifications. I'm pretty sure you'd put a single vidar into protection mode trying to play at reference volume with those monitors... edit. Nvm. Looks like these particular monitors are an easy load. Even a single vidar should be fine.

Between two vidars you've got 1/2 the power you need to run the LFF HE-6!

@rlow right. Saga has 2 pairs of SE outs so each Vidar gets 2 left or 2 right, split for tweeter and woofer. Cheaper than good trasformers, and cheaper than running Freya at night playing ambient music while I sleep :P

Hmm ok. So one channel to the woofer and the other channel to the tweeter. Seems like a bit of a waste since tweeters don’t need that much power, so not sure you’ll get the full benefit of dual Vidars. But it will still sound fantastic if my single Vidar running them is any indication. Enjoy!

Functionality is great, if you need something over a bare pi roon endpoint. It's own app can play Internet radio and other shit, and you can Bluetooth/Spotify to it which is handy when guests come over and wanna listen to their own shit.

I can't speak to sound quality, in order to prevent nervosa its spdif coax is the only thing I've listened to on my 2ch systems. Oh, and it's still getting firmware updates even with the new model out.

However if you're fine with just WiFi/Ethernet functionality and don't mind messing around with Linux a bit a good pi is probably better sound.
