ETA ADA and Vali 3 make such a great combination. I'm listening to DSotM all the way through for the second time this week, very rare. Apr 23, 2024 at 7:09 PM

I'm using the free versions of Benchvue which are limited to 1 hr per data logging exercise. If I'm going to spend real money I will likely go with National Instruments Lab View.

LabVIEW has quite a few other issues, ignoring license requirements (big ask), but I would still be hamstrung with long runs for the same NI-VISA limitations (we see it on fully loaded 34970 chassis).

        Link 1 was fascinating.

Looking into further reading, the Beck book from 1953 is now a print of demand from Cambridge U Press, and Valley can be had print-on-demand, leather-bound from India for 40 bucks with free shipping. What a brave new world we live in.

Banjos are awesome. A true banjo virtuoso can be just a good a tear jerker as a violin virtuoso. Patty Smith's cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" has a banjo in it. It adds a dimension to the song I never heard before.

Gungnir MB A2 + Liquid Platinum is a pairing that will be of high interest and I intend to evaluate such in the future, when I get around to installing the A2 PCBs into my GMB. However, as @zerodeefex points out, system synergy requires all components of the system to assess properly, transducers especially.

Value has many thresholds, depending on depth of a given individual's pockets. Performance / Price ratio is a better indicator for this combination, I think.

My enjoyment of particular recreational music systems is inextricably intertwined with my personal preferences. The following lists are representations of my tastes in music, components and listening levels. The section on music is only a sample of my library but should provide sufficient insight into my musical preferences. I am rigorous and exacting with component measurements. That doesn’t automatically make my opinions worth anything without context. Use the following information to decide how well your own preferences converge or diverge with mine when I make comments about equipment in the forum. DO NOT blindly assume a positive comment from me about some component or headphone will automatically translate to auditory happiness on your part. Likewise you may find yourself enjoying something that I don’t. Consider (learning) your own personal preference.

I tend to listen at quieter levels where electroacoustic transducers exhibit greater linearity. Higher levels are more likely to have greater distortion and require higher power amplification. The result is substantial deviation in opinions by listeners attempting to compare headphones when they are listening at different levels.
