Godzilla Minus One was a good movie. Not only because SFX that puts Hollywood bloat to shame, but it had an actual story. Jan 11, 2024

Cool, so that is what they are planning! I envisioned a Pi/ Eitr one box solution that takes USB in and spits it out "cleaned".

Yup, literature says that this is the first place to go when exposed to dangerous SPLs, unless I'm misremembering. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for advancements in med tech. Also mildly irked it's just the one ear in my case, that'd explain some things.

        Bass ftw :))

I can sympathise, although do not worry to much. My daughter is deaf in one ear and has very good hearing in the others. It is amazing to what she can do with that one ear.

Yup. Sounds right. 4 to 6kHz. High frequency hearing loss from age is in the top octave. Even then, it's not loss, but rather decreased sensitivity. Hearing damage is deep nulls in the upper mids.

I had a M0 briefly and literally never plugged anything into the jack. I only got it for LDAC streaming (which it did not-great at) and so I returned it and got a used ZX300 instead.

It’s the goal of any publicly traded corporation to put share value first so yeah.. it would be nice if they put consumers first but it doesn’t happen unless doing so is tied to share value.

You are correct, material matters. Plastic will only act as dust caps. Metal is needed for RFI performance.

@atomicbob, do you think there is a meaningful difference in performance between (1) gold-plated copper with no PFTE/Teflon insulation and (2) nickel-plated brass with PFTE/Teflon insulation?

      4. atomicbob

Without testing both on a specific device with known RFI susceptibility, I couldn't predict which would be better for any given circumstance. When testing preamps and amps, I run quick tests with / without external grounding and input terminations to see which combination yields best performance.

Pretty much why everything I have at the moment was bought used. Could be worse, though. At least people can wait for others to get bored of their Elex and put it up F/S while they move on to the next FotM. Saves you a few bucks that way, though you're gonna lose in shipping, handling, and taxes anyway (sigh).
