It seems that in Chicago, all delivery services have issues. USPS has sent apology letters for mail carriers throwing mail in the sewers, UPS claims they attempted delivery but there's no tag and someone was home all day, and Fedex says "pending" with no committed date. Ugh! I feel your pain.
I didn't have a choice on shipping, sadly. USPS and UPS are rock solid in my area. Their estimated arrival dates are always dead on. FedEx is delayed. Every. Single. Time.
Way back in the day I loved FedEx, because they always gave you the option to come pick your package up at the facility rather than wait for delivery. That was probably 15-20 years ago, though, and those days seem long gone.
Do you not have the pick-up option anymore at your location? When I lived in Austin (until 4 months back), that was my preferred method, for Fedex. But even otherwise, FedEx was good with deliveries. It was USPS that dropped the ball often.
The pickup option is long gone. I will normally direct all deliveries to my local walgreens/fedex center, but it's not letting me this time. For some reasons, Monoprice is determined to have a $700 amp arrive on my doorstep when I'm not home and without signature confirmation.
Ah, gotcha. Redirecting to a local FedEx pick-up location is what I meant as pick-up. Looks like the earlier pick-up option worked quite differently. I hope your amp arrives safe and sound.
Yeah, we used to have pickup options at the actual fedex
shipping/receiving centers...this was before Walgreens and all the additional shops were really a thing.
