Well, we'll see where on the love it/meh spectrum I fall whenever it does open, haha. I'll make sure to try as much on the menu as I can without guilting myself, shakes included :P
@DigMe Yup, that's the one. I'm actually a bit miffed that I just noticed earlier since it seems some of my other friends already knew about this (and hell, you did too WTH).
I think it really depends on how important value for money is. I like the food since they do a good job with the texture and how they sear it, but there's no denying it's crazy expensive for what you get.
I honestly have no idea about their pricing, and since the Philippines has crazy VAT I'm doubly concerned about value. That said I do end up splurging on good food every now and again because I really enjoy nice meals.
High Street (place where Shake Shack is setting up shop) and surrounds will offer quite a bit of competition cuz foodie culture is crazy here.
Oh it does! My favorite is the shroom stack. Basically a double burger expect one of the patties is replaced with a portabello mushroom that they use for their veggie burger.
... as someone who absolutely loves mushrooms (not the kind that would get me killed here, war on drugs and all), that sounds f'ing amazing! I will be so pissed if that's the one item on the menu they don't bring here, haha.
My take is they had huge variation by area -- McD is by comparison very consistent imho. Two states (CA, TX) and two Asian countries (JP, KR) showed pretty different quality -- largely regarding patty/searing/bun -- to my taste. That said, I am wondering about what and how you would report back!
So either I save up a lot for a ticket stateside or hold out for a five guys to open a store here. Hah, that'd be fun. Yeah I'm sure there has to be some variation between stores, I just hope the one here does a decent job of it.
Also, spaghetti with chili doesn't sound bad, @Syzygy. I'm actually kinda looking forward to it, haha.
