I'm often surprised at canjam how loud the previous person listened.

Yeah, I am definitely a quiet listener. I just automatically turn down the volume at shows now, as 90% of the time, it is cranked too high for me. Same with the speaker rooms, too. A bunch of deaf dudes listening so loud, I question if they can even tell speakers apart anymore.

One of my favorite parts of having EARS is it lets me confirm that I’m listening at safe levels with various cans.

I use the Decibel iPhone app and shoot for around 75 dB average SPL. Sometimes when I demo new gear, especially speakers, I listen at 85-90 dB+ SPL from maybe 10ft away because I don't want to miss any undesirable sound traits that are masked at lower volumes.

If you're a soft listener, a Focal Clear is for you. Soft listeners don't have to deal with drivers banging around. Poor loud listeners. Maybe you you can buy one off a loud listener for pennies on the dollar because they think its shit...

@ButtUglyJeff I didn't know that Focal drivers bang at loud volumes. I guess it's time to not live under a rock.
