Whatever the choice, I'd get some hands-on time if at all possible, make sure you like the feel of playing it. Cost of the higher-end models is rough, though; managed to snag mine at a hefty discount and it was still several thousand dollars... the price of realism, I suppose.

Micro LED and emissive quantum dot, both sample and hold. I think the last future tv tech that wasn't was SED? it was supposed to replace plasma, but then it died. I think the problem is brightness, its hard to get without sample and hold.

That reminds me, I have to track down a CRT TV to play a few Point Blank/Gun Bullet games I still have stashed in a cupboard. The arcade version with actual recoiling pistols was one of my all time favorite multiplayer games right up there with Daytoma USA 8 player, and Gauntlet.

More intense in that it was _real_ rather than a tv show, but the events of the show were pretty highly dramatized in comparison to what actually happened. As you would expect of something meant to entertain

Critical path: 3ns+ -> 2.2ns. Is real time all that's typically considered now? Was wondering about cycles, and what clock speed you used to get that.

Had an interview once where I had to provide the total clock cycles for a loop in Z80 assembly. Missed it by 1 cycle because the positive branch of an if took +1 cycle than the negative.

Man that was a long time ago.

when I say critical path I mean in the heardware for a single cycle, so the critical path is what determines your cycle time and therefor the clockspeed you can run the chip at. So we took it from passing timing at ~300MHZ to doing so at 450MHz with some reasonably minor changes to the architecture. Getting the cycle time down further would require much more significant changes we dont have time for.

Yeah, to boot the DEC10 you had to feed punched paper-tape through a reader. And plenty of lights and switches.

The VAX 8087 used a DEC-made IBM PC clone to hold the boot code, and essentially network-boot the VAX.

I used qbitorrent for a long time on my desktop. The main reason I went with deluge after trying several was cause it allows you to rename files and folders within torrents from the remote interface. None of the others let me do that in the webui they have

Transmission lets you do that with the remote GUI. I have 970+ torrents seeding with transmission and only use QBT for new downloads. It’s kind of cumbersome. Maybe I’ll give deluge a shot.
