@dubharmonic you know the new Unison USB is on the horizon right? Not sure how soon we’ll see it, but last update from Mike it seemed like they might be getting close...don’t quote me on that though, could be next year the way things sometimes go with them...

@rlow thanks for mentioning that, I'd forgotten about it! Maybe I'll wait after all and keep chugging along with the Eitr.

While the A2 upgrade is surely a good one, the diff between Eitr and Gen 5 USB is minimal. In fact, I generally preferred Eitr over Gen 5 in many cases, but they’re pretty darn close.

Agreed. I've found a sweet spot with it using Ragnarok in low-gain mode. Tempers the aggressiveness present in mid-gain and makes it way more enjoyable.

@dunharmonic I have been using Foobar2000 for many years. Reliable. Works well with the Gungnir MB and my laptop.

Tinnitus is more so brought on by volume than audio quality. It's always nice to see people moving to better gear though. I believe the HFM 4XX are better value, easier to drive, and comparable in quality to the 6XX - maybe point her in that direction?

If she needs isolation, the ZMF Classic shouldn't be overlooked. Dunno if Fulla 2 can drive it, but Zach would know. Best luck!

@Elnrik I think they’re suede perforated Auteur pads, but I’m not entirely sure because Zach handed them to be in an unlabeled box.

Angled pads = Auteur, flat = Universe, if that helps.

They’re angled, so must be Auteur.

I'll tell you what, I had the Auteur for a while and I do like your descriptor of it. Didn't much like HD650 preffered HD 600 instead, but I think your onto something, some of the best low frequency presentation I've heard was an Auteur on an original Moth 2A3

@rott yeah, I was not going to be getting any new stuff either this year, but here we are. I've been using the suede pads on the Auteur exclusively since Friday, and haven't had any interest in rotating to another headphone in the collection, which is strange for me.

Which headphone? Zach's pads are great, he does have a knack for getting a lot out of a pad swap.

They are made from leftover toxic sludge? Kind of feels like it. Or melted toxic gummy bears. Gross.

Pretty sure they were used for catheters and enemas before they found their way to HFM.

ZMF Eikons sounded great! I bet Auteurs sound nice too.
