The production value is Very good, in a few places 'Damn Good" Humor is a subtle but important component to Star Wars and here it's done Monumentally better than in the current trilogy. The casting is absolutely excellent so far, including one notable voice that I did not know to expect.
This episode isn't intended to stand alone, but it IS an introduction to a Star Wars project that a lot of us are looking towards to restore our faith in this franchise. I want to like this project and I want to continue to like John Favreau...
Up to the last minute and a half my take was that this was well crafted, respectable, but is it entertaining? Is this going to be the 'Agents of Sheild' of the Star Wars Universe, or will it be something more, something closer to the good seasons of GoT? ...
I came in to the episode hoping for 'Oh Hell Yeah' from the very beginning, and that didn't happen. Most of the story is sparse, barren, and on a smaller 'TV' scale than I was hoping for. But... in that last 90 seconds, I did get some of that 'Oh Hell Yeah' that this has a chance to be very legit. Jury is out. You'll see what I'm talking about when you watch the episode, which you can do right now for free.
And 'LOL' at The Last Jedi not being available on Disney's own streaming service. I assume that Netflix or somebody currently has exclusive contractual rights to stream that movie... but I'm choosing to imagine that the film has been disowned by Disney for 'reasons'.
