Posting here because noise, but pissed off Superman v. Darkseid in JLU was one of the most "f**k yeah!!!"-awesome moments in cartoon history, I remember bouncing in my seat watching that for the first time.
@Thad E Ginathom more or less in the thick of things at the moment. Air is sticky and humid, enough so that I'm tempted to turn on the dehumidifier but that'll drop temp in my room a few degrees more, haha. Won't be the first time home's flooded, we've got plans in place and stores of food and batteries etc. What's genuinely irritating are all the gnats and mosquitoes around.
Thanks, @Jinxy245, thanks @EagleWings! Sentiments appreciated, and luckily my area wasn't hit too hard earlier. Hoping it doesn't get any worse in succeeding days.
All good. Wasn't too bad on our end save for heavy rainfall, but far from flooding capacity. Other places were much worse off it seems, which is horrible.
I was just reading.... tens of thousands of people evacuated, huge storm surges... Bad times for Philippines. I'm sorry for everyone --- but obviously you are still at home, still have internet: I'm glad you're ok.
We had a cyclone, the year after the flood. Made a mess of our city; lost many trees. Despite my realistic expectations, we still had our one tall tree, car port, water tanks. I think we got a bit of shelter.
Still, it put on one hell of a show: heavy monsoon-type rain moving sideways in the wind!
Yes. Four deaths at last count which makes me angry. I'm glad that my area wasn't affected as much as I feared but at the same time I'm just f'ing livid. People are making the best of it but there's still thousands displaced, no power, no clean water.
