It's depressing to know that such a thing has happened.

What the actual f**k. Whos bright idea was it to send an email out on black friday, giving people half a week -over a weekend!- to claim their own property back. Try to extort them on postage costs. Then threaten to recycle their property as if it is of no further value. Absolute scum.

Damn that is fucked up. Maybe an enterprising journalist can get involved, like "7 on your side" (NYC based), or something similar...

What a nightmare. Could they not just let them download their collection at least? Or deliver it to them digitally somehow?

@Gaspasser yeah, I got the email. Luckily I never did the thing with having them keep my collection and being somewhat of a nomad I have digitized my collection. The couple of dozen or so CD's I've purchased from them were solely for the digital copies.

@rtaylor76 Those who have their physical media stored there should already have them digitally. That was the idea of the business - they just store the physical media.

@Sqveak yeah I cannot imagine having a large, valued collection of physical media stored with them. Total disaster
