In terms of just bass, not as far as you'd think. The HE6 has the best quality out of all of them, but all of them exhibit a kind of what I used to call "HiFiMan" bass. There's always this slight tendency toward a one-note sound.
The double-sided older HFMs all sound fairly similar in terms of bass response with a small bit of variation. I actually like the lewse bass of the HE4 and 400 for some bass-forward electronic and hip-hop stuff. HE6 definitely the tightest and most controlled, but not as phat as the 4-series. HE5LE kind of in between.
