BA's always sound a bit soft and fluffy to me regardless of FR. I like the timbre of ceramic drivers on the top-end, but most of those have borked FR. This is why I like the IMR R1 (modded) - huge DD for the lows, ceramic for the highs. Way tighter and more dynamic in the low end and more crisp and textured in the highs than any BA I've heard, though there is a touch of ringing... There'll always be tradeoffs.
There are quite a few with dual DDs and 1 or more BAs but in all the ones I know of the DDs are the same size (coaxial) - and I guess you were meaning DDs of different sizes...?
@Kunlan. Didn't the old TDK IEMs also have two DDs? They were pretty good for the money back in the day as I recall.
I'd love to see an IEM with a CA DD for bass, an Aurisonic Rocket micro dynamic driver for mids (best IEM mids I've heard) and an Andro BA implementation for up top. Use the two DDs for 80-90 percent of the FD. Just use the BA for that last bit of extension and avoid most timbre/coherence issues.
Rockets are badass and a true HD650 IEM correlate IMO. Shame they stopped making them and the cable is so microphonic... I love mine - moreso than the FDX1
