The chase was fun, but eventually a relief to stop chasing, coming to the recognition that HD650 was my baseline for "lovable imperfection". That baseline also made my transition into speakers much more straightforward. Still, wishing/waiting for something like the Raal SR1A to come down to $1.5k territory before getting back in the headphone hunt.

Bifrost 2-->Liquid Platinum-->HD600/650 is feeling pretty done to me. Very clean sound with enough warmth to keep me happy. Happily throwing my newfound cash into a Dolby Atmos setup.

I think he made an important distinction between trying new things and chasing perfection. Variety is the spice of life, but the perfect is the enemy of the good, as they say.

It goes in cycles. The main thing is to not get caught up in the spending cycle and evaluate over long periods of time.
