I can see why MultiBit/NOS/R2R gets recommended so often with the SW. Modi 3 is nice, but I'm sensing it's a bit of a weak link in my chain. I'm Interested in a good 9038 to try out, but MB would probably synergize best with the purity of the SW.

For the price the Modi Multibit does well and throw in the Pi2AES which takes it a step further. The SW is a hell of an amp for its price range.

I like the Elex paired with the SW51+ more than the 6XX paired with it. Both sounds great.. I prefer the HD6XX with a little more grunt (voltage swing?) than the SW51+ can dish out.. but I'll gladly trade that for the tone, clarity, detail, etc. the SW affords the 6XX.

Now I’m super curious about this pairing...

Shitty HD6XX bass getting more irritating too.. the Elex making that quite obvious.

@Phantaminum You ever heard Elex with Liquid Platinum? I listened to that pair once and like it a lot. Just wondering how you would compare LP to SW51 with Elex.

I owned the LP and the Elex at different times. Never had the chance to pair them together. About the only thing I can say that the LP would do better is bass will probably hit harder and enough power for planars. I’d still prefer the SW51 over the LP.
