    I always thought Alex was underappreciated because best guitarist award is so subjective. Where Neil and Ged were consistently at or near the top of the best of lists.

    @crazychile I think it's because there was already a great wealth of famous/talented guitar players, but Neil and Geddy broke more new ground, so Alex was less appreciated. He's the melodic heart and soul of the band.

    He can go Mark Knopfler or full Hendrix out of the blue but without his fills/parts Rush sounds incoherent. Only Josh Homme is known for that skill generally. But Alex Lifeson takes it to another level.
