No way in hell would I pay $4000 for these things when you can get a used OG pair for like $600-$800. A fun, engaging listen nonetheless.

A used OG pair happens to have unobtanium replacement tweeters, and majority for sale are dented in. I’ve been shopping for a while... Full story coming this weekend.

What amp are you running for the JBLs?

Right now in the office I just have a Lumin M1 being used all-in-one as a Streamer, DAC, and integrated amp. 60W Class D. Better
pairings surely exist, but it's fine for listening quietly with the speakers against the wall. At home my F7 knocks it out of the park with my JBL L55's.

I have been very curious about those speakers since their release. I have been wondering if Aegir monoblocks would be enough power and be good synergy or if bi-amp Vidar / Aegir (low / mid & high) would be a better match... don't suppose you have the ability to test any of these?

@e.shell that's exactly why I asked! Wife likes the speakers cause she's into the old school esthetics and sound.

Aegir should be fine with them - 1 or 2. They're 90dB/1W@4Ohms so not really hard to drive unless you like to listen at a 100dB average all the time and still want headroom beyond that.
