I do not have any other reference points for the BK curve and I have only used SW for HPs. For HPs, as SW already applies it’s own compensation to achieve SW’s target curve, it may not be ideal to determine how the adaptation of the BK is. That said, I felt BK doesn’t work with Dynamic nor Planar HPs for other reasons too.
I wanted to keep my thoughts reserved for now but yep, I preferred the SW comp by a country mile on HD600 and HE4XX— BK was mushy and overly polite in comparison, made me reconsider the target for flat place couplers here haha.
I can imagine. I was once helping a friend EQ his speakers and, we tried to mimic the BK curve and we liked the result. So I am inclined to think it works really well for full-range, neutral sounding speakers.
